Kozy Kids Psychology is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance companies directly. This approach allows for ample time and attention to each family, ensuring highly attentive and personalized care. Payment is due at the time of service and accepted forms of payment include credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA cards.
For those seeking insurance reimbursement, detailed receipts (“superbills”) can be provided. Many families have successfully submitted superbills to their insurance companies, though coverage and reimbursement depend on each specific insurance plan and out-of-network benefits.
Consider asking your insurance provider the following questions:
Does my plan cover services from out-of-network mental health providers?
What is my deductible for out-of-network services, and has it been met?
What percentage of session or evaluation costs will be reimbursed?
How many sessions are covered per year?
What documentation is required for reimbursement, and how do I submit it?
Payment options and insurance details can be discussed further during a free 15-minute consultation call. Additional questions are welcome at any time.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD)
Anxiety disorders
Depressive symptoms
Other behavioral, social, or emotional concerns
Each evaluation uses gold-standard, evidence-based assessment tools to ensure accuracy and reliability. Outcomes may include formal mental health diagnoses (if appropriate) and personalized recommendations to support your child or teen at home, at school, and in their ongoing care. For more details, see the Psychological Evaluations page.
Academic or psychoeducational evaluations for learning disabilities (such as dyslexia or dysgraphia) are not provided. Starting therapy or an evaluation can feel new or uncertain for children and teens. Here are some general tips to help your child feel comfortable:
A parent-only Intake Session will take place first: During this initial intake session, a plan can be discussed around preparing your child or teen for the first appointment, which will be tailored to your child’s needs and personality.
For Therapy: The first session with your child or teen is focused on building trust, explaining confidentiality in an age-appropriate way, and helping them feel comfortable. The goal is to get to know your child/teen, understand their perspective of what is going well and what is more difficult right now, and get a sense of what changes they would like to see. If your child or teen is aware of their challenges (e.g., “I get really worried sometimes”), you might introduce therapy as a helpful resource (e.g., Sharing, “I met with someone who helps kids and teens with their feelings and teaches new ways to handle tough emotions, like feeling worried. They can help both you and me learn strategies to make life feel a little easier.”)
For Evaluations: You can explain to your child/teen that they’ll be meeting a psychologist to better understand how their brain learns, thinks, and solves problems. The evaluation may include activities, puzzles, pictures, and questions to get to know them. There may be activities that look at how they interact with others, communicate, and respond to different situations. Some tasks may feel easy, while others may feel more difficult, and we just want to encourage them to try their best. The overall goal is to understand how parents, teachers and other supportive adults can help them at home and in school in meaningful ways.
If you would like personalized guidance on preparing your child or teen, this can be discussed during the free consultation or Initial Intake Session. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
